The Mt. Airy BID board of directors is made up of property and business owners who take stewardship of the organization very seriously. Every year, we pledge to put your annual investment to work in ways that help our Germantown Avenue commercial corridor thrive and grow, benefiting all of us.

Clean, Green & Well-Maintained
- Clean Germantown Avenue six days a week, collecting and disposing of more than 100,000 gallons of trash annually, along with a comparable amount of leaves and other natural debris.
- Remove illegal signs and graffiti from the public right-of-way.
- Report streetlight outages, downed trees, and illegal dumping through the City's 311 system.
- Mulch and weed more than 200 street trees and partner with Mt. Airy Tree Tenders to plant new trees.
- Partner with SEPTA to scrape and repaint trolley poles throughout the corridor.
- Secure Big Belly solar-powered trash receptacles from the City.
- Partner with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Community LandCare program to maintain 50 vacant lots in East and West Mt. Airy located within two blocks of the commercial corridor.
- Beautify the Avenue with our award-winning annual display of hanging flower baskets.
- Develop six pocket parks and Little Free Libraries that create welcoming community gathering spaces.
- Install place-making banners along Germantown Avenue from Washington Lane to Cresheim Valley Drive.
- Partner with Mural Arts to add three public murals to the commercial corridor.
- Support the installation of pedestrian benches to encourage walkability and strengthen public spaces.
- Help property and business owners access grants for façade improvements, tree lighting, and security cameras.
- Partner with key institutions to expand parking availability during evenings and weekends, while facilitating parking regulations that improve turnover and support local businesses.
- Maintain an assessment collection rate of more than 95%, helping keep assessments as low as possible.
- Install bike racks and bike repair stations to support alternative transportation.
- Secure federal, state, and local funding for the installation of nine new crosswalks and bump-outs to improve pedestrian safety.
- Work with City agencies, nonprofit partners, local institutions, and elected officials to secure resources and deliver improvements that enhance the commercial corridor and surrounding neighborhoods.
